Is the 2022 Toyota Tundra getting redesigned? Yes! Here’s what we know so far.
Toyota has revealed that the 2022 Tundra will be the start of an all-new generation for the full-size pickup truck. As of the time of writing, Toyota has only teased what the new Tundra front end will look like. We’ve included the teaser video below. We also know that the new Tundra will be body-on-frame and will feature a new engine.
All-New iFORCE MAX Engine
Toyota revealed the 2022 Tundra will be getting a new engine. In a short video and an image still on the 2022 Tundra webpage, the top cover of the engine is shown. Notably, the cover only shows three cylinder sections on each side of the engine. While it has not yet been confirmed by Toyota, automotive outlets have speculated that it could be the same engine recently shown in the new 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser, which is a powerful new twin-turbo V6 that produces 409 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque. For comparison, the old 5.7L V8 from the 2021 Tundra and 2021 Land Cruiser only produces 381 horsepower and 401 lb-ft of torque.
