The 2020 Toyota Highlander has a higher seating capacity and more cargo room than the 2020 GMC Acadia. The standard seating capacity for the Highlander is eight, but captain’s chairs are standard on the XLE, Limited, and Platinum trims, and they bring the capacity down to seven. The Acadia? It maxes out at seven and goes down to six with its optional captain’s chairs. Similarly, the Highlander has more cargo space. Behind the third row, there is 16 cu-ft; behind the second row, there is 48.4 cu-ft; behind the first row, there is 84.3 cu-ft. The Acadia has less at every interval. Behind the third row it has 12.8 cu-ft, 41.7 cu-ft behind the second row, and 79.0 cu-ft behind the first.
The 2020 Highlander comes standard with an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, five USB ports, and an integrated Wi-Fi hotspot. Available features include a 12.3-inch touchscreen, an 11-speaker JBL premium sound system, wireless device charging, and a panoramic moonroof. The Acadia touchscreen tops out at 8 inches. The premium 8-speaker sound system option is also less satisfying than the JBL one found in the Highlander
