Every 2021 Toyota RAV4 has a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. It produces 203 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. The engine is equipped with a start-and-stop system that shuts the engine off when the vehicle is at a complete stop and turns it back on when the accelerator is pressed, saving a significant amount of fuel. Speaking of fuel economy, 2021 RAV4 FWD models get about 27/35/30 mpg, while the AWD models get around 27/33/29 mpg. Exact estimates vary by trim level.

Connectivity Features

The 2021 Toyota RAV4 is smartphone ready, with standard Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa capability, as well as a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a USB input. Rounding out the standard infotainment features are SiriusXM satellite radio, a 7-inch touchscreen, and a six-speaker stereo system. Available connectivity features include up to five extra USB charging ports, an 11-speaker JBL premium sound system, a universal garage door opener, and an 8-inch touchscreen.

Standard Safety Suite

Each 2021 Toyota RAV4 comes standard with the Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 (TSS 2.0) suite of safety and driver assistance features. Included in that package is forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, lane trace assist, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, road sign recognition, a rearview camera, and automatic high-beams.  Other available safety features include blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, a surround-view parking camera system, and rain-sensing automatic wipers.
